7K a year Die Maintenance Group Leader SUMMARY Performs, monitors and controls Die maintenance and repair activities on Dies and all machinery that pertains to dies.
Supports on maintaining all records for PM's and Training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned as per the company's needs.
Plans Die repairs & preventative maintenance functions.
Purchases and controls Die/equipment spare parts.
Completes various Die repair reports.
Assist management with preventative actions to reduce and/or eliminate waste and quality problems due to Die breakdown/malfunction.
Ensures all employees conduct Die maintenance PM's and repair activities in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensures all Die maintenance areas meet safety requirements.
Attend safety committee meetings.
Assists management with the establishment of Die maintenance work instructions, process procedures and standards for Die maintenance along with repair functions.
Investigate, complete and follow up on Root Cause Analysis' for production loss or quality problems related to Die breakdowns & malfunctions.
Participates in the continuous improvement program (kaizen).
Inputs information for yearly budget and management plan preparation.
Provides training for Die Maintenance team members.
Conducts Danger Preventative Training meetings.
Assigns Die maintenance members to complete repairs, tasks & PM's.
Provides Die maintenance with supervision during repairs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises all employees involved in Die maintenance and repair activities.
Assists management with the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Die maintenance program.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; assisting management with appraising performance; rewarding employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma and 5 years of Tool & Die experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, quality manuals, operational procedures, work instructions, and technical manuals.
Ability to write work instructions, root cause analysis, routine reports and business correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
Ability to calculate percentages, area, circumference and volume and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Ability to read Die blueprints and schematics.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to use various personal computer software (Microsoft Windows).
Knowledge of metric system.
Mechanically inclined, working knowledge of specific die functions, die troubleshooting, basic heat treating and pre/post heating of steels when doing a welding repair.
Basic use of the spotting press, automatic surface grinder, drill press and all other shop machinery.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Crane license, forklift license.
(May be obtained in first three months of employment).

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
