PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under moderate supervision organize and manage the routine work activities and provide clerical support to Special Education Administrative staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintain and manage the School Health and Related Services (SHARS)/Medicaid claim program for special education services.
Secretary will coordinate a high volume of data including the student claims, parent consent, and provider information.
Maintain individual provider documentation in the applicable digital systems and in all paper-based records.
Verify all required data elements and information are present in billing and related documentation.
Pursue one-time parental consent for medicaid reimbursement for all parents/guardians not obtained previously across the district.
Prepare, present and/or participate in professional meetings and training for SHARS/Medicaid reimbursement.
Ensure all requirements related to National Provider Identification (NPI) numbers are met.
Ensure all prescription and referral requirements for SHARS billing are met.
Process all SHARS/Medicaid related records.
Enter and maintain all SHARS submissions on a monthly basis.
Address SHARS transportation documentation and requirements.
Maintain confidentiality of information Accept other duties as assigned.
