Summary:
Under general supervision, provides technical assistance in performing assigned and delegated tasks in support of multiple research projects in the lab.
The Research Assistant will also work with various medical and undergraduate students rotating through the lab.
Job Duties:
1.
Molecular Biology:
site directed mutagenesis, sequencing and PCR/qRT-PCR.
Some training will be provided as necessary.
(20%) 2.
Biochemical Procedures - Western Blots, immunoblots, quantifying protein concentrations, and Immunostaining.
Some training will be provided as necessary.
(20%) 3.
General Laboratory Maintenance - preparing agar plates, autoclaving of glassware, media and pipette tips, re-filling purified water and liquid nitrogen Dewars.
Maintenance of tissue-culture room, the cells in the incubators, and sterile tissue-culture hoods, using sterile technique.
Ordering and receiving.
Thawing freezers as a team with other lab members (30%) 4.
Preparation of primary neurons for culture from rodent peripheral ganglia.
Transfection of tissue-culture cells.
Use of a fluorescent microscope.
Animal husbandry.
(30%) Training will be provided as necessary Education:
Bachelor's in a basic science is required.
Experience:
Experience with some or all of the above laboratory techniques is highly preferred.
Knowledge of the basic laboratory instruments and appliances is required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
