Qualifications POSITION SUMMARY The Janitor I will serve the customer and meet service contract requirements by performing a variety of tasks such as cleaning, dusting, sweeping, and vacuuming worksite.
Support the organization in its mission to help change lives through the power of work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Sweep/vacuum floors and carpet to free from litter, dust, and foreign debris.
Dust/damp mop floors to have uniform appearance.
Perform low dusting from horizontal surfaces or chairs, file cabinets and other types of office furniture and horizontal ledges, windowsills and handrails.
Perform high dusting to remove dust, litter, lint and dry soil from all surfaces 7 ft.
from the top of the floor surface to include blinds, a/c, grills, convectors, suspended heaters, etc.
Clean glass doors and windows to eliminate traces of film, dirt smudges, scale and obvious soil.
Clean and disinfect surfaces of partitions, stalls, stall doors, wall areas, lavatories, urinals and toilets.
Desiccate toilet bowls/urinals to leave surfaces free from streaks, stains, scale, scum, urine deposits and rust stains.
Refill all paper products such as towel and toilet paper holders and soap dispensers.
Remove trash from all waste baskets, cigarette butt receptacles and other trash containers in the area and return to their initial location; clean trash receptacles inside and out.
Spray/Dry buff hard surface floors leaving a uniform appearance.
Clean interior/exterior window surfaces up to 7 ft.
by removing all traces of film, dirt, smudges, water and other foreign matter from frames, casing and sills.
Inform appropriate personnel of irregularities and possible problems at contract site in a timely manner.
Enhance safety program by following all federal, State and agency safety requirements; wear safety equipment; follow the use of chemicals and equipment according to the manufacturer's directions; attend required training.
Market Goodwill and explain mission to general public.
Follow general guidelines and performance standards for routine janitorial work.
Follow oral instructions from crew leader.
Understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.
Pay attention to detail and adapt to changing tasks.
Work with minimal supervision.
Work a flexible schedule, including days and evenings.
Develop and maintain own skills by participating in required training opportunities.
Adhere to occupational safety procedures to include being an awareness ambassador for Risk Management.
Decrease audit finding by following and enforcing standard operating procedures as directed by the Management Team Member.
Provide quality customer service to both internal and external customers.
Take a proactive role in protecting the agency's assets and resources.
Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and responding to questions and/or concerns in a positive, professional, and friendly manner.
REQUIREMENTS High School diploma Previous janitorial experience preferred.
Analyze, evaluate situations, and develop alternatives for conflict resolution.
Basic cleaning methods, chemical usage, and cleaning equipment.
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
For positions that require driving, must maintain a valid driver's license and automobile insurance coverage, and be able to travel as needed if you drive your vehicle during company business.
