We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator with extensive experience in database administrationThe Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining databases, ensuring database security, implementing backup and recovery strategies, and monitoring database performanceThe role requires a strong command of SQL and SQL server tools, as well as expertise in database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standardsThe Senior Database Administrator will also need proficiency in PowerShell and Unix shell scripting, and have experience working with various database technologies such as MS Access, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, SQL Server, and MySQLKnowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments is also required
Responsibilities:
Manage and administer databases, ensuring their security, availability, and performanceDevelop and implement database security measures to protect sensitive dataEstablish and maintain backup and recovery strategies to minimize data loss and ensure business continuityMonitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving performance issuesCollaborate with software developers and system administrators to design and implement efficient database structuresTroubleshoot and resolve database-related problems and incidentsDevelop and maintain database documentation, including data dictionaries, data models, and standard operating proceduresStay updated on emerging trends and best practices in database administrationRequirements:
Possess a minimum of 15 years of experience in database administration in programs/contracts of similar scope, type, and complexityHold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related disciplineDemonstrate a strong command of SQL and SQL server toolsHave advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standardsProficient in PowerShell and Unix shell scriptingExtensive experience working with database technologies such as MS Access, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB, SQL Server, and MySQLFamiliarity with Linux and Windows Server environmentsExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentPlease note that the Senior Database Administrator position requires a TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph.
