25 an hour 4 days ago 4 days ago 4 days ago SUMMARY Millennium Steel of Texas, LP will carry out 'BLANKING' operation for automotive grade Steel.
Blanking involves processing of Coils of Flat Rolled Steel into Steel Sheets of various shapes and sizes.
Blanking produces pieces of steel sheet material called 'Blanks'.
A Blanking Warehouse team member will be responsible to receive, store, and ship blanks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Load and coordinate shipping/delivery of blanks to customers (on-site suppliers) Receive coils/blanks from rail cars upon initial delivery to plant and as coils/blanks are processed through the plants blanking lines Inspect coils/blanks by performing visual quality checks and use measurement devices (tape, micrometer) to check specifications of steel material Package coils/blanks by loading and securing on pin pallets to prepare for shipment Input/scan data into and print bill of lading/shipment document out of Opentrac computer system Assists in keeping the workplace clean and tidy Assists in providing a safe workplace Assists in coaching, training, and directing other staff Participates in team meetings and training Other duties may be assigned To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Requires mechanical aptitude - knowledge about mechanical objects and physical and mechanical principles.
Basic computer skills- word-processing, spreadsheets, databases, and typing.
Ability to use handheld scanner to scan bar codes.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalency.
No previous experience is required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION Crane and forklift license preferred.
CPR certification a plus.
Additional training will be provided as a part of continuous improvement.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
MST will use mostly metric system of measurement.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

The employee will be required to wear protective clothing, gloves, hard hat, respirator, as specified in the various processes and/or instructions.
The employee will also be required to wear safety shoes and safety glasses.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
WORK SCHEDULES:
Varies to business need.
8- 12 hour shifts with day / night rotation.
