Qualifications:
Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Safety, Certification and Airworthiness (SCAW) is currently looking for a lead, senior or principal Electrical Engineering Unit Member (E-UM) / FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) to support teams based out of Berkeley, MO, El Segundo, CA, Heath, OH, Huntsville, AL, Mesa, AZ, Oklahoma City, OK, Ridley Park, PA, San Antonio, TX, Berkeley or St Charles, MO, Arlington, VA, Huntington Beach, CA, Palmdale, CA, Albuquerque, NM, Cape Canaveral, FL, New Orleans, LA, Ogden, UT, Dallas, TX and Houston, TX.
In this role, the candidate will perform FAA finding of compliance activity for CFR 14 Part 25 aircraft as part of the Boeing Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) as an ODA Engineering Unit Member for the Electrical discipline.
The candidate will support a varied portfolio of Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) activities across multiple BDS programs and sites.
Position
Responsibilities:
Leads analysis of certification planning, testing, and artifacts to find compliance to FAA regulationsProvide subject matter expert (SME) support to programs and engineers in the Electrical Design disciplineMentor and guide prospective Engineering Unit members, providing feedback and supporting throughout their developmentStay current with design industry trends and methodologiesTravel globally to supplier locations and Boeing sites, 25% of the timeThis position is hybrid.
This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite (or at supplier locations) at one of the listed location options.
This is at the hiring team s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.
S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
An interim and/or final U.
S.
Secret clearance Post Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
(see education and experience for the levels below)FAA DER candidate or Engineering Unit Member in Training at an ODA.
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

years experience with Electrical System Design.

years experience with showing or finding compliance to FAA regulations.
Ability to travel to supplier locations and Boeing sites 25% of the time.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Active appointment as an FAA DER or active appointment as an Engineering Unit Member in an ODA.

years experience mentoring engineers in certification processes.
