Position
Responsibilities:
This mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation, and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints or manufactures' manuals.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (San Antonio, Texas)
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a U.S. Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. U.S. Person includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
This position requires the ability to pass an assessment during the training cycle.
The position requires compliance to SA Site Tool and FOD procedure.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

years of experience in the position responsibilities listed above.

years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and schematics.
Must be able to work various shifts.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
Experience with F/A-18/Fighter or Depot Level/Heavy Structures maintenance.
Knows how to read/interpret Blueprints, Engineering Drawings, Service Bulletins, Work Orders and aircraft TO's (Tech Orders).
Identify if a fastener is a rivet, blind rivet, screw, hi-lock, bolt, or lock bolt.
Remove damaged screws without damaging surrounding structure.
Ability to perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas to preform structural modification and repair.
Utilize advanced tools and equipment to fabricate, assemble and install aircraft structural components.
Familiarization with multiple materials such as titanium and composites.
Operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment to accomplish work assignment.
Must be familiar with Hazardous and Lock Out Tag Out systems applications.
Will be required to assist other team members General Mechanics, Avionics and Electrics to ensure cost and schedule is met.
Highlight any technical issues, discrepancies or other issues to the program lead and manager.
TYPICAL EDUCATION/
Experience:
High school diploma or GED and typically 10
years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Relocation:
This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Pay Rate: $74,880
Additive Pay: $1.00/hourly for Airframe Certification
$1.00/hourly for Powerplant Certification
$2.00/hourly for both Airframe & Powerplant Certifications
