George Gervin Youth Center seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Finance to join our team.
The Director of Finance will be responsible for overseeing the business operations of the district including accounting, payroll, and purchasing.
Provide leadership for the district's financial services activity to ensure legally sound and effective management practices.
Direct and monitor the management and investment of all the district funds to ensure they are adequately protected.
Supervisory
Responsibilities:
Manages and oversees accounting functions.
Supervises and schedules staff in organization support operations.
Assists with performance evaluations.
Serves on the Finance Committee of the School Board.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Maintains full integrity of all revenues, ensuring organization policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations, are followed.
Oversees capital assets projects, ensuring the organization's goals are being met.
Compiles fiscal estimates and prepares fiscal reports as requested.
Ensures compliance with accounting procedures through observation, supervision, and testing.
Develops procedures that ensure collections are complete and current.
Ensures financial compliance with all state and federal grants.
Manage all required audits.
Performs other related duties as requested.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent managerial skills and ability to evaluate the work of others.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Working knowledge of the organization's applicable financial practices and procedures, as well as a thorough understanding of state and federal rules and regulations.
Proficient with accounting software and standard office and accounting equipment.
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics required; master's and/or CPA preferred.
TASBO Certification preferred.
Five years of management experience in finance with a similar organization or with a major CPA firm.
Experience in school business management or public organization Experience with school finance software programs, MIP, Abila by community brands, UKG & Excel Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
