This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Enlisted position.
Air Reserve Technicians (ARTs) are part of the regular civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain active membership in an Air Force Reserve unit so long as they occupy ART positions. As members of reserve units, ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month. In addition, they are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Force Reserve units and members are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency.

The primary purpose of this Air Reserve Technician (ART) Enlisted position is to serve as an Aircraft Work Inspector in a Maintenance Group Quality Assurance Office of an Air Force Reserve Wing. As such, the incumbent will:
Observe and determine quality of in-process and after-the-fact maintenance, ensuring prescribed technical and management procedures are followed and quality maintenance is achieved
Manage the organization's product improvement, weight and balance, function check flight (FCF), Quality Assessment Program (QAP) and technical order distribution programs
Ensure aircraft, aircraft components, group support/shop equipment are maintained in compliance with technical directives
Evaluate the proficiency of assigned mechanics during and upon completion of repair actions
Train reservists in maintenance tasks to ensure quality standards are met.
A specific length of experience or training is not required. However, you must have had experience and/or training (military or civilian, paid or unpaid) of sufficient scope and quality to be able to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Element C: Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair -- List the kind of equipment you have had to assemble; make; install; test; or repair. Give examples of the work you performed on the equipment such as assemble, disassemble, install, test, maintain, repair, troubleshoot, calibrate, modify, and design. Element F: Knowledge of Technical Practices -- Give examples of your work experience that required inventing new methods to do tasks that could not be done in regular ways. State trade theory or technical principles you are familiar with which must be understood to perform the duties of the position for which you are applying. Give examples of up-to-date trade practices. Also, give examples of your work which required precise timing, accurate dimensions, or precise fit. Element I: Use of Test Equipment and Measuring Instruments -- List the measuring instruments and/or test equipment that you have used and briefly describe for what purpose you used each. Element J: Troubleshooting -- Give examples of your experience troubleshooting equipment. Show the extent to which you had to understand the entire system to isolate the problem. Tell extent of danger to equipment if incorrectly handled while troubleshooting. Give examples of the more difficult troubleshooting you have done. Element K: Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, Blueprints -- What kind of instructions, specifications or directives have you had to interpret? Be sure to describe experience in interpreting new instructions or specifications concerning changes in operation procedures. How frequent were changes? On what jobs did you have to interpret manufacturers' guides, catalogues, technical manuals, drawings, blueprints, charts or maps? Give examples of the more difficult instructions, etc. you had to interpret.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Position may or will require incumbent to: (1) Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. (2) May be require to work uncommon tour of duty. (3) Position may require a background security investigation to determine suitability for employment and/or a security clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance. (4) Perform work on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, standing, bending and climbing for extended periods of time. (5) Work outside in inclement weather, in hangar area, on aircraft, and sometimes in hazardous noise and confined areas. (6) Work around machinery with moving parts and/or moving objects or vehicles. (7) May be required to lift and carry items weighing 45 lbs or more. (8) Work on ladders or scaffolding. (9) This is a testing designated position. Incumbent is subject to random drug testing. (10) May be subject to shift work and uncommon tours of duty.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
