Paralegal
SMITH/Associates is searching for a qualified candidate to fill an Paralegal position in support of the Air Force Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC) Strategic Design and Construction (CFS) at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), TX.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in a related field. Eight (8) years directly related experience in the subject field can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
Minimum of six (6) to 10 years of directly applicable technically related experience since receiving degree required. Technical certifications can be substituted for three (3) years experience.
Background in paralegal support with Department of Defense (DoD) experience
U.S. security clearance at the minimum level of Secret
RESPONSIBILITIES
Advise and/or assist the Air Force during administrative and judicial proceedings involving other federal, state, local and public agencies.
Review, analyze, and make recommendations to integrate federal, state and local government comments on Air Force programs and studies.
Deliver documents to the Air Force in support of responses and/or reports to regulatory agencies for approval and submission by governmental personnel.
Provide administrative support and business analysis in relation to and in support of contingency construction litigation. Information reviewed/accessed may contain classified, privileged or proprietary information.
Assist the Air Force in the investigation and analysis of (a) claims the Air Force may assert against other parties for the recovery of environmental restoration costs and (b) claims other parties have asserted against the Air Force for environmental liability.
Assist in any negotiation or litigation involving such claims and in the investigation and development of defenses to any potential Air Force environmental liability.
Provide technical reports as specified for each TO to include service requirements outlined in this TO; and assist in the document production for multimillion dollar federal government contract claims to include Rule 4 files for ASBCA and full discovery litigation support, Agency Reports for GAO, and Administrative Records for the United States Court of Federal Claims as required.
Conduct word searches, data retrieval, and organization of large amounts of data with Concordance Software.
