This position assists with compilation and preparation of material for research project involving human participants, and also assists in conducting research projects. Responsibilities involve gathering data from self-report measures, interviews, laboratory behavioral task, measures of attention and cognition. Work is performed at the Neurobehavioral Research Laboratory and Clinic (NRLC), Psychiatry Department or other facilities designed for clinic research. This position will operate with considerable latitude in un-reviewed actions or decisions. May act as liaison with other departments, divisions and organizations. Plans, organizes and conducts one or more small or moderately complex research projects according to plan; reviews progress and evaluates results.
Formulates research methods and suggests options for improving quality, identifies potential problems, recommends and implements solutions. Consults with principal investigators and other researchers to include qualitative and quantitative analysis. Maintains laboratory and equipment in good working condition to support research endeavors.
Conducts a variety of research experiments according to protocol using a variety of methods, including use of self-report measures, interviews, laboratory behavioral tasks, neuroimaging, and measures of attention as well as cognition.
Gathers data, supervises data collection and verification, plans and organizes studies, analyzes and interprets results of research, and directs and participates in the preparation of the results of research in the form of a publication.
Develops protocol and criteria, standardizes equipment, test procedures and quality controls, codes information, and presents descriptive data in regularly scheduled meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in an educational/social science with two (2) years related experience.
