Research Area Specialist-Associate 2015369
UTHSCSA-Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full time Research Area Specialist - Associate (RAS-A)to help facilitate the department's neuroimaging and psychophysiology research studies. The position entails working closely with children with ADHD and related disorders and their families. The RAS-A will be responsible for assisting in the recruitment of participants; acquisition of behavioral, EEG/ERP, and MRI data; and will complete basic data analysis of EEG/ERP and MRI data under supervision. Additional duties include the facilitation of clinical activities, including the administration of evaluation measures, coordination of evaluation activities with Behavioral Care Managers, participant tracking & retention for follow-up measures, management of participant compensation payments, data entry and data management.
Recruitment of participants and collection of EEG/ERP and MRI data. Management and processing of EEG and MRI data,
with supervision.
Facilitation of clinical activities and related program evaluation/research, including administration of evaluations and participant tracking and retention.
Manage participant compensation. Perform data entry and data management
Other duties as assigned
This position requires proof of pre-hire immunizations and testing.
Bachelor's degree in an educational/social science with zero (0) to one (1) year of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelors degree in psychology or related field with at least 1 year experience in EEG/ERP or MRI research laboratory.
Preferred
Qualifications:
o 2 years experience working in EEG/ERP or MRI
research laboratory
o Previous experience running EEG/ERP studies,
in particular experience capping children or
adults
o Previous experience working with children
o Previous experience preprocessing EEG/ERP
data using Brain Vision Analyzer (BVA)
o Previous experience collecting and analyzing
EMG data
