Provide content curation for a national Latino childhood obesity (LCO) prevention project. Overall this position will establish relationships with key LCO stakeholders/organizations and mine media/online resources to identify, collect, organize, write, and promote multimedia content (policies, case studies, resources, and more) for an online platform that empowers movement of LCO awareness and policy change among stakeholders. In addition to this effort, the successful candidate will also participate in other projects of the Institute for Health Promotion Research as directed, including: writing for and promotion via social media, scientific publications, grant proposals; creating and delivering scientific abstracts, posters and presentations; representing the IHPR at community events and as part of community groups; etc.
Establish relationships with key local, regional, and national LCO stakeholders and organizations and mine online and media resources to research, identify, collect, organize, and write blog posts, case studies, stories, and other materials for a dynamic online database for use by stakeholders interested in preventing LCO. Individuals will utilize phone or in-person contact, conference attendance, cyber mining tools, and knowledge of social media programs and trends to identify content.
Synthesize, summarize, write, and promote content from information found via various communications channels.
Other tasks as directed.
Bachelor's degree in an educational/social science with two (2) years related experience.
Preferred
Qualifications:
oKnowledge and/or strong interest in health disparities, childhood obesity, physical activity, nutrition, built environment and public health policy.
oStrong verbal and written communication/journalism skills, especially in writing for news media, blogs and social media, conducting interviews in person or by phone, and conducting public relations-type activities.
oFunctional knowledge and personal experience with WordPress.
oProficiency in navigating the Internet and utilizing Internet-mining tools (RSS feed readers, etc.) and social media networks (Blogs, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and also the latest platforms).
oKnowledge and experiences in the tenets of traditional marketing and promotional campaigns.
oKnowledge of online tools to track webpage and social media metrics (e.g., Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Tweet Binder)
oAbility to use data visualization tools to create charts, infographics, etc.
oSome knowledge of graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop)
oProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, and various web/e-communications programs (e.g., Druple, mass email systems, etc.).
oSelf-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively to produce high-quality deliverables.
oAbility to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
oBilingual (English and Spanish)

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
