Role Overview
Under direction of the Director of Operations (DO), the Area Operations Manager (AOM) partners in improving operational efficiencies and addressing marketing, operational, and people challenges. The AOM assists the DO with implementation of operational improvement programs in order to maximize community performance.
Responsibilities
The Role You'll Play
Assist the DO with day-to-day projects and assignments
Ensure compliance with company standards
Assist with implementation and maintenance of corporate and local initiatives
Act as an advisor with change management process
Assist DO with quality control as needed with on-site visits, including grounds, amenities, and walking vacants; Provide suggestions/solutions for areas of improvement
Assist DO to ensure marketing and training updates/expectations are met
Participate in DO Yieldstar calls
Assist DO with property action plans and help resolve the issues that arise
Have a sense of ownership for the success of new developments (lease-ups) and acquisitions in the region
Responsibilities include assisting with the setup of the trailer/office and with training new associates, as well as assisting with operational efficiencies and then helping to monitor performance
Participate as needed in special projects
The Area Operations Manager supervises the work of Community Managers and their teams.
The Area Operations Manager reports to the Director of Operations.
Your Building Blocks of Success
High school degree or equivalent; Some college preferred
CAM , ARM designation
5
years' experience in property management; 3
years in a Community Manager role
Lease-up and renovation experience preferred
Ability to recognize problems and take action to improve a team
Demonstrated success working with a diverse workforce
Strong financial management skills; Well-versed in budgeting and forecasting
Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and mentoring skills
Ability to travel
Superior customer service skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry software
