FACILITY SERVICES ASSISTANT

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule P Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for Equipment, Facilities, and Services Series, 1603. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes extensive working knowledge of Civil Engineering Facility Maintenance Unit programs and requirements to be able to prioritize and handle work orders, and emergency, urgent, routine calls expeditiously, and dispatch crew properly when emergencies occur. Knowledge of all skills and crafts assigned to properly respond to incoming emergencies, urgent and routine job orders and assign employees to overtime work when approved and authorized; Knowledge of facility maintenance control methods, Recurring Work Programs (RWP) and procedures as they pertain to Work Information Management System (WIMS); Knowledge of format, rules, procedures and operations applicable to clerical assignments to prepare/review routine correspondence/reports, screen telephone calls and visitors, maintain files/records, review and process mail, and perform clerical procedures to arrange a variety of material from different sources and other administrative work of organization; Knowledge of regulations, procedures, and policies related to records maintenance and documentation. OR EDUCATION:
Successfully completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE:

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of facility maintenance control methods, Recurring Work Programs (RWP) and procedures as they pertain to WIMS. Knowledge of format, rules, procedures and operations applicable to clerical assignments to prepare/review routine correspondence/reports, screen telephone calls and visitors, maintain files/records, review and process mail, and perform clerical procedures to arrange a variety of material from different sources and other administrative work of organization. Skill in typing:
a qualified typist is required to operate personal computer. Ability to locate, assembles, and composes information for routine reports, inquiries, and non-technical correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and writing, using tact and courtesy. Knowledge of regulations, procedures, and policies related to records maintenance and documentation. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
Experience:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK
Experience:
Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
