Lead Supply Technician
- Distributes and balances the workload among employees in accordance with established workflow or job specialization and assures timely accomplishment of assigned workload. - Monitors status and progress of work, makes day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established priorities. Obtains assistance from the supervisor on problems that may arise, such as backlogs which cannot be disposed of promptly.- Estimates and reports on expected time of completion of work. - Instructs employees in specific tasks and job techniques and make available written instructions, reference materials and supplies. - Gives on the job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices.- Maintains current knowledge and answers questions of other employees on procedures, policies, directives, or other guidelines as necessary and obtains needed information or decisions from supervisor on problems that come up. - Checks on work in progress or spot checks work not requiring review. Reviews completed work to see that supervisor instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines have been met. - Monitors working conditions. - Resolves simple, informal complaints of employees and refers others to supervisor.- Approves leave for a few hours or for emergencies.- Reports to supervisor on performance, progress and training needs of employees, and on behavior problems or issues. - Provides information to supervisor as requested concerning promotions, reassignments, recognition of outstanding performance, and personnel needs. You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
distributing supplies and materials, including sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instrument sets and equipment, to all areas of the facility; scanning, bar-coding, receiving, storing and distribution of supplies and materials; assists in training new employees; maintains current knowledge and answers questions on procedures, policies, etc.; maintains stock by pulling stock, replenishing stock, and maintaining records on stock levels; monitors expiration dates and rotates stock; cleans assigned areas in accordance with aseptic principles; and receives supplies and material into the facility. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:
