IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/CUSTSPT)

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. Salary Ranges includes local market supplement This is a GG-11 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-11 duties for the Professional work category are at the Full Performance work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-11 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job. Basic Requirements Education:
All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions Undergraduate or Graduate Education:
Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. Requirements:
GS-11 (or equivalent):
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degreeor3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Note:

Experience:
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Experience:
Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include:
knowledge of IT network systems design principles, methodologies, and approaches used in planning, developing, testing, installing, operating, administering, and maintaining network services that support functional requirements. Knowledge of the organization's network architecture, topology, and protocols sufficient to plan, design, develop, and integrate network systems consistent with existing or planned network infrastructures. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of LAN/WAN and system principles and practices sufficient to install, configure, and troubleshoot components; systems architecture, integration techniques, and testing methods; knowledge of and ability to create, implement, and manage web-enabled applications, internet services, and servers; CI equipment and procedures; information operations (IO); communications and intelligence (CI) systems; and network operating systems. 2. Knowledge of customer service principles, methods, and procedures for documenting problem resolutions and providing guidance and training to customers. 3. Knowledge of the DoD intelligence community and the various missions associated with each organization; and the various levels of security requirements associated with the Intelligence community, and the ramifications thereof. 4. Skill in analyzing complexities of existing technology and in maintaining an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predicting how management can meet future requirements. 5. Skill in analyzing network problems and recommending solutions. 6. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately; and to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
