Pay Grade


Position Summary


The Engineer Associate position holds the responsibility for the safe, reliable, and economic round-the-clock operation of the power generation facilities. Duties include Engineering responsibilities for the design, construction, maintenance, and operation activities of our power plants.

Tasks and Responsibilities


Attends seminars, continuing education opportunities for professional development

Focuses on operational/tactical aspects of the work

Recommends improvements to processes and procedures

Handles work content that is increasingly complex

Applies engineering skills that include evaluation and ingenuity

Makes some independent decisions and often makes recommendations that affect the section, department and/or division

Decisions have identifiable but relatively moderate impact on costs, timeline, safety and reliability

May provide input to area budget

Applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures

Performs other project and process improvement initiatives as assigned

Analyzes and evaluates operations, maintenance and performance in power generating facilities

Assesses the effectiveness of operations, maintenance and design change measures to accomplish strategic and business plan goals

Utilizes project management tools for managing engineering design, construction and/or procedural projects

Evaluates and recommends new standards, products, and/or services

Recommends and implements improvements to processes and procedures

Participates in and provides input to area budget

Actively works within financial objectives set by management

Assists in developing training programs for operations and maintenance personnel

Preferred Qualifications


  • Broad knowledge of other related areas and how they influence operational/tactical aspects

  • Experience with Computer Aided-Drafting systems and Bentley Microstation software

  • Experience with ESRI GIS software and Arc FM Designer software

  • Experience with SAP and Work Manager software

  • Texas Professional Engineer (PE) certification

Minimum Education


Bachelors of Science degree in an engineering field from an ABET accredited four-year college or university or Demonstration of advanced skills or specialization applicable to the business area (Approval by Business Unit Executive Leadership, as related to the business need for Engineering Associate 2 s without their EIT)

Working Environment


Work is performed indoors & outdoors. Manual dexterity, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion. Use of computing equipment, telephone, & printer/copier. Ability to travel to and from business related events. After hours work may be required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
