Software Engineer .NET Developer
General Summary
Under general direction, completes the design, construction, development, testing, implementation, and technology delivery for business needs throughout VSP Global. Experienced Software Engineer is responsible for technical aspects of the entire process of agile development for moderately complex projects.
Essential Functions
Design, code/develop, test, and implement moderately complex systems.
Design solutions to solve moderately complex business problems, considering operational and functional aspects of the solution, demonstrating an understanding of the business function.
Research and permanently resolve system problems and incidents.
Mentor Apprentice and Associate Software Engineers to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities.
Job Specifications
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years of programming experience.
Proficient programming experience in one or more current programming languages.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong technical knowledge of all phases of application development including analysis and programming.
Exercises discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties.

Preferred Skills
Experience in web development or client application development utilizing Microsoft .NET technologies
Various server side skills including API integrations
Database development and management:
SQL/MySQL
Proficient with software development tools:
Visual Studio, git, Jenkins, Chef, Maven, Sonar, Artifactory, etc.
Possess a strong technical background and willingness to learn
Strong experience with development methodologies such as Agile or SCRUM
Strong cloud experience, with a preference for AWS technologies such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, Dynamo and other related server technologies
Able to identify, prioritize and execute under competing demands; motivated, self-starting, self-guiding
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
The working environment is generally favorable lighting and temperature is adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
