Position Summary

Plans, installs, repairs, maintains and administers multiple communication systems within CPS Energy.
This includes two-way radio systems, microwave radios, wireless networks, point to point radio, and point to multi-point radio, as well as mesh radio networks.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, repair, monitor and administer corporate radio communication systems, digital point to point microwave radio systems, voice radio systems, SCADA radio systems, and Advanced Metering Infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain system diagrams and documentation for system implementation.
  • Maintain a high level of technical proficiency as technology evolves.
  • Perform systems integration to corporate applications.
  • Demonstrate radio equipment to customers and explain how it is to be used and respond to any inquiries or complaints.
  • Maintain radio management and control systems.
  • Participate in investigations related to incidents and problems affecting communication services.
  • Interact with Communication Services engineering and maintenance personnel, organization employees in a maintenance capacity or servicing end-user equipment and vendors/contractors supplying goods and/or services to the organization.
  • Operate computer equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in use of various test equipment, service monitor, line sweep gear, spectrum analyzer, and multi-meter.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills

Minimum Knowledge and Abilities

Direct, hands-on experience with a broad range of technologies and sciences, including:
radio Trunking systems, wireless mesh systems, P25 radio systems, Mobile Data Radio system, Multiple Address System, and Advanced Metering Infrastructure.
Knowledgeable about security communications procedures and needs.
Knowledgeable about electric grid system operations needs for communications; voice and SCADA.
Demonstrated experience with antenna testing, troubleshooting, and repair of RF radio networks, radio base station and control equipmentAbility to analyze and troubleshoot complex wireless and radio system equipment and understand how these systems interconnect with/to other networks and fiber equipment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and schedulingPossess a valid driver s license with a history of a safe driving record in accordance with CPSE policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • ETA, FCC, APCO, other Radio Communications Technician license or certificates

Minimum Education

Associate of Applied Science Degree in Communications Technology, Electronics or related field

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
