Job Description
Summary:
The Pool Technician will service and maintain all resort swimming pools and hot tubs.
(S)he will make sure that the water is clean and safe.
(S)he will participate in the preventive maintenance program.
(S)he will work closely with the Lead Pool Technician in scheduling work and setting priorities.
(S)he will also strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times.

Essential Functions:
Performs a wide variety of daily work on resort spa maintenance including balancing chemicals, cleaning, drains and fills when necessaryPerforms periodic quality control check on spasPerforms maintenance, repair and installation of contracted spasEffectively fulfills job requirements in a safe and efficient manorComply with all the Resort's policies, procedures and Safety regulationsKnowledge in small equipment and repairMust be willing to work flexible hours and daysMust be able to function as an effective team memberMust have the physical ability to perform the manual task required for this position, including bending, twisting, crawling, climbing ladders, stooping.
Repetitive use of arms, waist and hands.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds alone.
50% of the lifting requirement would be up to 100 pounds during winter months.
Must be able to work under extreme weather conditions.
Maintain the proper chemical balance for the pool.
Maintains the pH and Chlorine values for good water quality.
Maintain the pool and all water features using proper chemicals and cleaners.
Maintain the pool pumps and filters.
Maintain the pool area including cleaning of the deck and other maintenance tasks.
Respond to swimming pool related work orders in a timely, friendly and efficient manner to assess and repair non-functioning machinery or equipment.
Repairs and maintains electrical and mechanical equipment.
Transports and stores hazardous chemicalsOther duties as assignedExperience and Education:
High school education or equivalent requiredAt least one year engineering experience preferredAt least one year of experience in a Resort or Hotel setting preferredAt least one year Pool Maintenance experience preferredAt least one year of customer service experience requiredCertified in pool/spa maintenance and repairMust have a valid driver's licenseJob Requirements:
Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permitMust be at least 18 years of age Must be able to work well under pressureMust be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written Must be highly detailed orientated Must be able to work in a fast paced environment Must have excellent listening skills Must possesses excellent communication skills Must be professional in appearance and demeanor Must always ensure a teamwork environment Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guestsWorking Conditions:
Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift, with intermittent periods of walking and stair climbing.
Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs; Must be able to bend, squat, push and pull frequently; Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, squeezing, overhead reaching and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
